2010  Vino de la tierra de Mallorca "12 Volts"

£21.50
At the forefront of the Majorcan new wave. Loads of bright, ripe cherry fruit leading to a creamy oak-laced finish.
2010  Vinho Verde Tinto

£14.50
Highly unusual red Vinho Verde from Northern Portugal, made from red-fleshed grapes, with very intense colour. Very juicy, fresh, style, with quite prominent acidity. A real oddity.
2007  Rubicon

£26.00
Chris Williams, the winemaker describes this vintage being his best yet. Open, herbal, spiced vintage of Rubicon. Supple and creamy with plenty of flavour, and a good example of tobacco aromas and cedarwood. Will age well.
2010  Rioja La Vendimia

£12.00
Lovely wine based around the gutsier Garnacha from Rioja Baja, the warmest zone - much darker, deeper and more chocolatey than the more floral examples from further west.
2008  Spatburgunder

£20.00
Virtually a cult wine in this shop - the 2007 was incredibly popular. The 2008 is a touch lighter, but still shows the light, fragrant elegance typical of Von Buhl's Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir).
2009  Burgenland St Laurent "Dorflagen"

£16.00
St. Laurent is an Austrian speciality related to Pinot Noir; think of a slightly more robust spicy version of its better known cousin.
2010  Chinon La Gravieres

£12.50
Latest vintage of an old favourite shows aromas and flavours of bright red fruit leading to a refreshing dry crisp finish.
2009  Santa Maria Pinot Noir

£25.00
Loads of ripe fruit without going over the top. Delicious and relatively good value for California.
2009  Schioppettino

£20.00
Complex, aromatic, herbal and slightly savoury wine made from a lesser known grape from the region of Friuli.Ideal for the the game season and Autumnal feasts.
2009  Curtefranca Rosso

£11.50
Aromatic merlot/cabernet blend from the flagship Berlucchi estate of Franciacorta. Plenty of appealing red fruit flavours and soft tannins.
2005  Redoma Tinto
£2.00
£38.50
Made since 1991 and one of the pioneering Douro reds. Dark, dense and impressive, and still 3 to 5 years from maturity (although drinking now). The flavours of dark berries, spice and earth are rich yet beautifully discrete. Despite the power on offer here, Redoma is above all an elegant wine, beguilingly feminine.
2010  Morgon "Cote du Py"

£25.00
Bright liquid ruby with strawberries and redcurrant aromas. Generous fruit palate with perfect concentration and superb length. This is a biodynamically produced Gamay that will upstage many Burgundies sharing its price tag. Subtle and finely balanced, but solid enough to accommodate the richness of game.

2008  Pegasus Bay Riesling

£17.00
Made in a Germanic style; off- to medium-dry with intense lime and apple fruit and a long mouthwatering finish.
2010  Penedes Rosado "Gran Caus"

£14.00
Technically a rosé, but treat this as a light red to slightly chill. Made from organically farmed grapes from 80 year old Merlot vines. Full, graceful and delicious, with measured concentration of fruit.
2010  Chateau Lamothe Bouscaut Blanc

£21.50
Graceful, waxy and mouth-filling, this has all the requisite freshness and character of cru classé Bordeaux at a fraction of the price.
2009  Maury

£24.00
Probably the leading estate of Maury. Intense fortified red with lots of Christmas cake and spice.
2009  Sauvignon "Quarz"

£38.00
One of Italy's best Sauvignon Blancs. The nose is floral, creamy and herbal, leading to impressive mineral weight and length. This will age.
2009  Arthur Chardonnay

£23.00
A beautifully different US Chardonnay, delicate orchard fruit and pear blossom. There is oak, but it's subtle and fits in so precisely - the wine is put mainly in used barrels.
2010  Bossa Branco

£9.50
Filipa Pato likes to boogie - hence the name of the wine. Has a lovely smooth slightly peachy character leading to a crisp finish.
2010  Mahi Twin Valleys Vineyard Chardonnay

£16.90
Probably our "go-to" oaked Chardonnay from top Kiwi winemaker Brian Bicknell. Lots of rich fruit and hints of creme caramel, balanced with minerality and a crisp finish. If you think you don't like Chardonnay try this with a selection of cold meats and cheeses.
2010  Conceito Sauvignon Blanc

£18.00
Quintessentially Marlborough, but with a good measure of european charm. Fresh and lively fruit with great volume and length. A new biodynamic additon to our expanding fleet of wines Made by Rita Ferreira of Conceito Portugal.
2007  Chateau Béla Riesling

£20.00
The very excellent Egon Müller has found a new home for his very formidable Rieslings. Slovakian discovery. Resembling the finest out of Mosel and Saar, this is a definite worthy opponent. Standards are certainly raised. Limey, flinty with honeyed sweetness and brisk citrus.
2006  Kanta Riesling

£23.50
Delicious Adelaide Hills Riesling. Lots of elegance and facets to this wine. Hints of maturity, citrus, wet stone and even clove. The acidity is lively and mouth-watering and the length, plenty.
2010  Picarana

£18.00
A full and rich Albillo from Madrid. A very agreeable wine from the use of biodynamic and natural principles. Generous and mouth-filling, but not without freshness. Very distinct nuttiness through to the finish. Delicious and very likely to please fans of Grenache Gris or powerful whites in general.
2010  Majas Blanc

£14.00
From where France meets Spain. The heat of the mediterranean & cool shadow of the Pyrennes enables the fruit of this region to express it's fullest. A blend of 45% Macabeu, 45% Rolle, and 10% Carignan blanc sourced from 35-year-old vines. Rich, aromatic and ripe wine suitable for food of a similar fashion.
2010  Rami Bianco

£18.00
A lovely, mouthfilling style, broad but measured. Rami has generous, rounded citrus with mild herbal and almond hints, partnering robustly-flavoured seafood dishes very well indeed. Try with clams, prawns, monkfish etc.
2010  Tiara

£24.50
An homage to Riesling, made with grapes from Douro (schist) vineyards above 600m, mainly Codega. Tiara is complex, concetrated, intensely mineral, with rich citrus and lightly grassy notes. Malolactic fermentation was avoided to preserve freshness. Drink now or keep with (a lot of) confidence.
