Rosé for Sunny Days
Sun’s out and if you’re lucky enough to have a garden or a balcony (or you just have an optimistic imagination), you might just fancy a glass of rosé. We have two new rosés this spring that really put smiles on our faces. Totally different styles but equally delicious.
The first is a lot of fun. Austrian winemakers Gerhard and Brigitte Pittnauer’s Rosé By Nature is a fruit bomb of joy. Made from the local grape variety Blaufrankisch, it’s fresh, dry, juicy and really food-friendly so serve it up with cheese, salads, grilled meats, veggies and the works. Tada!
The Second is a classic. Pale, delicate, dry rosé from Château La Coste in the Coteaux d’Aix-En-Provence. Fresh cherry, strawberry and peach mingle together beautifully with subtle minerality and a perfectly rounded finish. A lovely aperitif that can continue on well with fish dishes.
