Manager - Victoria Park

We have a rare opportunity for someone to lead our knowledgeable, energetic, and sales-driven team at our original, flagship Victoria Park store.

Established in 2009, Bottle Apostle is a London-based wine group with four locations across the city; Victoria Park Village, Crouch End Park Road, Clapham Abbeville Village and Primrose Hill. Our award-winning range consists of over 1000 wines, craft beers and ciders, sakés, and artisan spirits.

Since 2009 we’ve become a much-loved destination for wine enthusiasts in east London and beyond, with our eclectic and ever-changing range. Our friendly and knowledgeable team regularly host a wide-ranging schedule of themed wine tastings, casual drop-in events, and exclusive winemaker dinners.

There will be a key focus on previous experience growing sales, proven management of teams of up to five people, experience managing stock, and ability to work seamlessly with others. Candidates must be able to develop strong relationships with our existing customers while attracting and retaining new ones. They should have a professional attitude, undeniable commercial awareness, and impeccable attention to detail, while working in a fast-paced environment.

We offer regular internal training and there are also opportunities to attend international trips as well as company-led team trips. As a small company, we like to draw on team members’ strengths, with scope to develop further into areas such as senior management, buying, trade sales, marketing and more.

Key Requirements:

An energetic team player who is eager to jump into the role and drive an established shop forward after 17 years in the Hackney community
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Well-organised with consistent attention to detail
Strong IT skills and excellent numeracy
WSET level 3 preferred
Previous wine retail experience is essential
Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends is essential
Proven ability to organise and host an exciting schedule of customer tastings.
Ability to repeatedly lift 20kg
