Exploring the Meandering Loire Valley

Join us in our Victoria Park cellar as we travel the full length of the Loire Valley, stopping off at some of its most celebrated, and varied, appelations.

 

Snaking its way across a vast area of northern France, the Loire Valley is home to some of the country's most famous winemaking regions. From lively, Atlantic-influenced Muscadet, to expressive, beguiling Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Jasnieres, Montlouis, and other villages, to the mineral, aromatic Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs from the near-continental climate of the hills of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume, and leaving just enough time for the fruit-driven, graphite-strewn Cabernet Francs from the quartz-rich vineyards of Saumur and Bourgueil.

 

The wines of the Loire not only represent superb quality and value, but huge variety in their styles too. Can we communicate the region's achievements in one tasting? No. But we'll pour some delicious examples of these historic and increasingly dynamic regions and will undoubtedly whet your appetite to learn more.
