From Piemonte to Friuli - Wines of the Italian Alps

Italy has the third largest land to vine ratio in the world, and with so many local grape varieties that often don’t leave their borders, there's plenty discover. The north is home to some of Italy’s most popular and celebrated wines – Gavi di Gavi, Barolo and Prosecco, to name a few – but there is a plethora of incredibly complex and elegant wines that haven’t yet gained the international acclaim they deserve. From aromatic and mineral whites including Ribolla Gialla and Friulano, to fragrant and delicate reds like Schioppettino and Chiavennasca, there is so much to discover. We'll touch on the crystalline styles from Valle d'Aosta in the high Alps, across the foothills of Piedmont and Lombardy, the long, steep-sided valleys of Trentino and Alto Adige in the Dolomites, and the hills of Friuli bordering Slovenia.

Join us for a fascinating evening of northern Italian classics, alongside some of the regions lesser-known varieties.
