Southern Burgundy in Focus
Southern Burgundy is often overlooked, yet the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais produce some of the most exciting and reliable wines in the region. This event is designed for wine lovers who want to look beyond reputation of the Cote d'Or and better understand why the south matters.
Through a focused tasting of outstanding Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay, we will explore how different villages' terroir, climate, and winemaking choices shape the styles of southern Burgundy.
The discussion will touch on soils, vineyard sites, harvest decisions, production and ageing. Rather than comparing the south to the Côte d’Or, the goal is to appreciate southern Burgundy on its own terms — as a confident and distinctive expression of Burgundy.
The wines will be accompanied with a range of cheese and charcuterie from our neighbours MacFarlane's Deli, with exclusive discounts available on the night.
