Chinon 'Les Picasses'

A wonderfully complex, aged Cabernet Franc from 80 year old vines that Catherine and Pierre used only up until 2004. The nose expresses intriguing aromas of cooked cherries, saddle leather and earthy undertones. The palate is almost a different wine. Incredibly youthful acidity for its age, with ripe, sweet cherries and redcurrants, powdery tannins and a gentle oxidative character. Drinking at it's best over the next 12 months.
