Chinon Vieille Vigne 'Les Cornuelles'

From a tiny plot of vines, some over 100 years old, this shows just how gracefully Cabernet Franc can mature in Chinon. The 2015 is really starting to sing but still has plenty of life left in it. The dried hedgerow fruit is complemented by layers of spice and dried tobacco leaf. The palate has some firmness, the tannins evolving nicely, whilst still maintaining a welcome acidity. Drink now to 2035.
