Baga Duck

A relatively new project from Luis Pato's daughter Maria Joao, and a typically irreverent take on things. A multi-vintage blend, mostly aged in concrete, but some in wood, it has a real mix of qualities. Plenty of acidity, dark, quite zippy fruit, perhaps from the Touriga grown in sand, and despite this, there's an overriding creaminess to the palate. Keeps giving more, and life to the end.
