Riverbrook Chardonnay

From a single vineyard planted in 1979-80 on a former riverbed in the Wairau valley, with a consistent but not overly-warm microclimate.  The balance is spot on with a lovely ripeness of fruit but gentle minerality and freshness. We like the winemakers saying that 'the oak is present but not the point', offering a hint of hazelnut whilst letting the fruit shine through.
