Rosso di Montalcino

The same grapes for this wine go into the same winery's Brunello di Montalcino, but the main difference being the ageing. This spends 9 months in a mix of third use barrels and amphorae, gently softening some supple but ripe tannins without adding too much oak flavour. Morello cherry and blackberry dominate the fruit aromas and flavours with some subtle spice and earthiness to round it off. |O|
