Saumur Blanc "Breze"

Saumur doesn't get much better than Brézé which gives Chenin a distinctive supercharged chalkiness helped by some very old vines (planted 1933 & 1952). Two years in demi-muids and 6 months in tank offer a mineral and smoky character with a flinty tension. Think of the texture and reduction of a Meursault with the tension and raciness of Riesling. Could be cellared for 20+ years.
